Training and Experience
Patricia obtained her nursing degree from Trinidad State Jr. College in 1997. She practiced primarily in Emergency Department, with additional experience in OR, nurse staffing, and Emergency Transport, She founded her non-profit organization, Nurses With a Purpose in 2006 taking groups of nurses on medical missions to India, Ethiopia, and Uganda. In 2013 she took a break from Hospital to oversee and provide care for her aging family member with Alzheimer's and Type II Diabetes.
In 2014 Patricia became ill with complications from shingles including, food allergies to 6 major foods, frequent infections, and hormonal imbalance. Conventional medicine had no answers except medications and procedures topping tens of thousands of dollars that year. It was during this time Patricia became aware of the association and extreme importance of nutrition, stress management, toxin exposure, and holistic approaches to true health. Patricia and her husband began producing their own food on their family Ranch expanding into a raw milk herd share program serving 50 families per week, a greenhouse and spring fed gardens were used to stock their retail Ranch Market, and they began producing grass fed beef, pastured pork, and free range chicken.
In 2018, Patricia began exploring Traditional Cooking techniques with Monica Corrado, from Simply Being Well, LLC. she learned the importance of time proven ways to prepare foods for the best nutrition and ease of digestion as our forefathers did and she became a Standard Process/MediHerb whole food supplement and Heart Sound Recorder provider. She began to heal from her illness using these simple approaches to health.
In 2019 Patricia founded Houston Mountain Health, LLC and began her career as a holistic practitioner sharing her life experiences, and education with a Functional Health approach with her clients.
In 2023 Patricia enrolled at Trinity School of Natural Health where she is pursuing her PHD and Licensure as a Traditional Naturopath.
Patricia offers a simple, basic, whole food and mind body balanced approach to health to those seeking an alternative to our current Medical Model while at the same time retaining her early day ER triage skills and experience to recognize when Conventional Medicine is necessary.. She resides with her husband Kirk on their Ranch in Rifle, CO and they continue to produce, grow, hunt, and preserve most of the food they eat.
